Compton Orthopedic Service was founded in 1986 by Harlon Compton, who still operates and manages the stores to this day. Mr. Compton started studying and working in the field of Pedorthics in 1970. In 1973, he Inside Our Storebecame the first Oklahoman to receive Board Certification in Pedorthics. In addition, he completed further Molded Shoe studies in 1984. Mr. Compton was the first Pedorthist in Oklahoma to fit shoes under Medicare’s Therapeutic Shoe Bill. His work and experience was crucial in developing the first Associate Degree in Pedorthics in the nation at OSU in Okmulgee, OK. He serves on several boards in an effort to continue improving Pedorthic and patient services.
Mr. Compton’s achievements include: Licensed Pedorthist, Licensed Orthotist, Master of Education, Certified Assisted Living Administrator, Board Certified Pedorthist, Board for Orthotist/Prosthetist Certified, member of the Board of Directors for the Pedorthic Footwear Association, President of the Oklahoma Pedorthic Association, member PFA, member IAOP, member AOPA, and Adjunct Professor for Oklahoma State University in Pedorthics.
